The thing with PS3 hardware, and software format (Blu-Ray), is that each and every component is going to take time to get used to. The idea of PS3 fizzling out in 3 to 4 years is absurd. Getting everything in the machine to work together in the most efficient manner is going to take a while to master. On top of that, Blu-ray itself is a new storage media, and I'm sure as that matures, they (Sony and the developers) are going to figure out new ways to compress the information onto the discs wi...
Each system has its own team working on it.
A port is creating a game on one system, then transferring the code to other systems without necessarily regarding that systems particular strengths.
I wouldn't say they are "phantom" disagrees when you are the only one who seems to have them.
How can this even be considered video game news. What the hell does this have to do with games. Yes, she is playing a game, but half the sitcoms on TV have people shown playing games at one point or another.
Why? Because she is a porn star. If you want to watch porn, go watch porn. If you want to post game news, post game news. This is just stupid. It has no relevance to video games or the industry.
In the very beginning of the show, he says, "Here it comes," - then says something about the best hour of television and fabulous prizes and so on and so forth!
Well, when you have scientists using a video game console to do advanced molecular research, what does that say about the power and capabilities of the machine. Very impressive.
Also, this article leaves me very optimistic that I won't have to buy another one when/if mine craps out. These are running 24/7 with out a hiccup!?! More news that makes me happy I chose my PS3.
To quote the announcer of The Price is Right, "Here it comes!"
This is what I love and developers have complained about with Sony. Their systems slowly pick up steam and just get better with age. The programming is difficult, but once they start to get the hang of it we can expect each generation of games to look better than the last. I'm already impressed with my PS3, and knowing that I can look forward to every aspect of my present games to improve, now that is exci...
but, why exactly do you own both copies of this game?
They (EGM) claim the PS3 loads in about 2 seconds where as the 360 takes 3-8 seconds. I know it's splitting hairs but...
Custom soundtracks? Big deal. I turn off the music and put my favorite CD in the stereo.
Online - couldn't care less.
PS3 runs the game great as does the 360. All this comparing of what is basically the exact same game is just ridiculous. It is completely personal preference. I'm not sure why these sites keep trying to compare th...
Hope the gameplay lives up to the screenshots. Full motion video will definitely reveal more about this game. If it runs smooth with graphics like that, we're in for real treat. I don't usually go for wrestling games, but these visuals are impressive.
I'm looking forward to this one. Voice chat, I think, would just be annoying unless you were only playing with friends and people you know. If you tried just going on there and playing against some one randomly, I have a feeling you would have to wade through a lot of obnoxious people.
I don't expect to change Jack Thompson's mind, but there are alot of politicians who have no idea what this "video game thing" is about. If we don't tell them the reality of what it is about, you can be sure some one else will give them their version of what it is about.
a report like this gives the "video games are bad" public legs to stand on. Instead of sitting hear complaining about what they said, we, as gamers, need to get out and lobby for our rights and make sure the facts are heard, not this type of propaganda. As it stands right now, we are not being heard, they are. They are speaking loud and clear, and they are convincing people they are right. It may seem like "they would never censor video games. This is a free country!", but...
I am very curious to see if MS will do the same thing with the 360 as they did with the original xbox. I think if they drop the 360 the same way they did with xbox they will really hurt their future in the video game market. That was actually part of the reason I got PS3; the fear that one day soon the 360 would just suddenly disappear.
It's not a matter of which system is "better", I just didn't like the way MS stuffed their old system in the closet like it never hap...
It has always been the same on Sony's machines, even the PS1 (although to a lesser degree). Games get better and better with each year on Sony's machines. That's what I like about them. I always feel I have something to look forward to. Just pop in, say, Half Life (on PS2) and play for about 15 minutes. Now put in God of War II. Little difference? There has never been a manufacturer that managed to have systems age as gracefully as Sony's. This is simply what I have observed and my opinion.
I usually play games by myself and I have two controllers, so when one runs even half way down, I switch and plug in the one that's low. If I'm planning to game with friends, I just make sure they are both charged. If we play all day and evening, it doesn't kill them and I just plug them both in after we're done so they will be ready the next day. If you kill your PS3 control, you've either been on one heck of a gaming bender or you lack planning.
And it is my understanding tha...
I'm kind confused by your statement. I agree that children should not play this game and parents should not allow their children to play this game. I took psychology in college, and yes, media (in any form) can influence and blur the lines of what is right and wrong with overexposure. But the idea of using censorship to keep it from falling into the "wrong hands" so to speak does not make sense. That is what the ratings system is there for. Parents and game distributers need to make...
The problem with the general public is that video games are still viewed as a child's form of entertainment. Just the phrase "playing games" gives the impression of childen's media. The only thing that is going to cure that idea is time. The average gamer is about 30 now. Over the next decade or two, games will have to be accepted as a legitimate form of adult entertainment. Until then, we will see the continued scapegoating that is running rampant over the industry. Our governments...
This is the perfect example of the perceived notion that gaming is only for kids. Until politicians, lawyers, and the like start looking at gamers as the responsible, tax paying, married with children, hard working, home owning citizens that we are, articles and opinions like this will get tossed around and become ammunition for the Jack Thompsons' of the world.
We're adults and we game; get over it.
Kojima was quoted as saying it is PS3 exclusive, not just because he wants it to be, but because the 360 is not powerful enough to push out a game like MGS4. So how does anyone expect him to even consider dumbing it down for the Wii. This "news" proves nothing.
Oh, yes, I will wait and see. I will see the PS3 outsell the 360 this year. I will see PS3 games that look better than anything the 360 is nearly capable of. I will see all you 360 fanboys desperately scratching for something to argue that your system is better. I will see more quality exclusives on my PS3 than you've had in the life of the 360 this year. I will see an online service that dominates the 360. I will see MS screw over their own fans with more broken systems and abandonment on wh...
